MLK Jr. Federal Building & Courthouse

Victoria, Texas

As a part of our 25 year relationship with the General Services Administration (GSA), we have completed numerous re-roofing projects for the GSA including the Martin Luther King, Jr. Federal Courthouse and Post Office building in Victoria, Texas. This 8 story building has multiple roofs at various elevations over the post office, the courthouse and the loading dock canopy.

The existing roof was removed down to the concrete deck underneath which was cleaned, patched and inspected prior to the installation of the new roofing membrane. The internal roof drains were removed and the roof was cricketed to external roof scuppers and downspouts using polyisocyanurate foam insulation. A new fully adhered modified bitumen roof and cap sheet were installed on top of the polyiso boards. Two layers of highly reflective elastomeric coating were applied on top of the cap sheet.

In addition to construction administration services, PDG provided full construction management and inspection services with on-site job site inspections, weekly observation reports, and pay-draw inspections.
