Feasibility Study

J.J. Pickle Building

Austin, Texas

The J.J. (Jake) Pickle Federal Building, completed in 1965, is part of the Federal Building Complex located on the near east side of downtown Austin. The last major upgrade to the building was in 1994 when the plaza was replaced and portions of the building envelope were renovated.

PDG Architects was contracted by the GSA to develop a complete feasibility study on this structure. PDG staff members and our sub-consultants performed field investigations, interviewed building management, reviewed available as-built documentation, and consulted independent contractors & vendors. In addition, they contacted City of Austin agencies to gather information to support the findings and conclusions that were fully described in a final report to the GSA.
